TENNIS – THE closing ceremony of the 28th BBK Juniors Open Tennis Championship, which began last Sunday with the participation of 220 players, will be held on Wednesday under the patronage of BBK Group CEO Dr Abdul Rahman Ali Saif.
As the tournament entered its business end, the intensity of the competition increased on the courts of the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) in Juffair.
In the U-12 boys semi-finals, Saudi Arabia’s Sultan Al Yami takes on Bahraini Abdullah Shaheen, and in a all-Saudi affair Salman Al Yami will play Elias Al-Ghafli.
Bahraini Sofia Badr will take on compatriot Maryam Abbasi in the U-12 girls semi-finals and Alana Severa, of the Philippines, meets Indian Siona Shefelkar in the other semi-final.
Meanwhile, Bahrainis have sealed all the places in the U-14 boys semi-finals with Talal Al Sayed taking on Reda Hassan, and Ahmed Mortada playing Abdulrahman Al Dosari.
