On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday attended the Showjumping (International) Kingdom of Bahrain Stakes for The King’s Cup and other competitions in which Bahraini equestrian professionals were among the participants, at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The show was held in the presence of Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and with the participation of international equestrian professionals.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the depth of the strategic Bahrain-UK partnership, “which has continued to grow stronger across a span of more than 200 years”.
He noted the kingdom’s commitment, led by His Majesty, to multisectoral collaboration, as witnessed in the equestrian sector.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the participation of His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as his children in the endurance race, underscoring the kingdom’s wide-ranging achievements, under the leadership of His Majesty.
He praised the kingdom’s participation in various competitions at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, “which exemplifies the professional level reached by the kingdom in the equestrian sector, supported by the King”.
HRH Prince Salman toured the show and was briefed on the activities, including a number of displays and races.
He hailed the organisation of the Royal Windsor Horse Show as an important international event for international equestrian professionals and enthusiasts, pointing out the large number of activities and competitions.
He presented the winners with trophies, and congratulated them on their win. Shaikh Nasser and senior officials also attended the event.
