UAE-based Alef Group has awarded a contract for the construction of its new shopping mall in Sharjah, Zero 6, which will boast of several advanced leisure and service facilities and an eight-screen cinema complex that will feature the biggest IMAX in the country, said a report.
The Dh210-million ($57.1 million) retail project, will come up on a built-up area of 37,000 sq m at Juraina, Sharjah, is expected to open in April next year, reported The National.
Sharjah-based Omis Contracting has been signed up as a major contractor for the project whose name has been inspired by Sharjah postal code (06), it added.
About 10,000 sq m of the retail destination will be dedicated for retail, 3000 sq m for food and beverages (F&B) and 3000 sq m for eight screen cinema complex - Cinema City.
Several shops featuring different global brands will be included in the complex, which will have a car parking facility for 490 cars, as well as various other parking lots surrounding the mall.
Located in Sharjah's prime residential area, Zero 6 will boast of a magnificent outdoor, air-conditioned terrace that will give access to a range of restaurants and cafes.
With indoor and outdoor seating it is set to be the hub and the heart of the development, said the report.
The first of a new generation of lifestyle retail venues, Zero 6 is located within a 5-km radius from Sharjah University City, Sharjah International Airport, Dubai International Airport and the other high-end residential areas, it added.
