HORSERACING – Turkish Airlines announced yesterday its entry into sponsoring sporting events in the kingdom through its partnership with Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) as the official carrier for the ‘RoyalTea’ evening during the 2025-26 horseracing season.
This partnership is the first of its kind for Turkish Airlines in the Bahraini sports sector, which reflects the confidence of international companies in REHC’s development plans and its prestigious reputation in organising sporting and community events.
The agreement was signed by REHC CEO Yusuf Osama Buheji and Turkish Airlines Bahrain Office general manager Mustafa Dokmetas, in the presence of several officials from both sides.
Buheji emphasised that Turkish Airlines’ selection of REHC as its gateway for sports initiatives in Bahrain highlights the club’s pioneering standing and the confidence of international institutions in its development vision.
He added that this cooperation opens new opportunities for international partnerships in equestrian sports and horseracing.
Buheji also noted that the ‘RoyalTea’ evening is one of the most prominent events on the club’s calendar and has achieved widespread success over the past two seasons.
The upcoming edition will feature further enhancements in partnership with Turkish Airlines.
For his part, Dokmetas expressed Turkish Airlines’ pride in signing its first sports sponsorship agreement in the kingdom with REHC.
He stated that the co-operation reflects the company’s commitment to supporting excellence and innovation in high-end sporting events that embody the values of authenticity and progress.
Dokmetas added that Turkish Airlines’ sponsorship of the ‘RoyalTea’ evening is a support for excellence in entrepreneurship and sports.
