ATHLETICS – The Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organisation (BNADO) held a meeting with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics.
The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination in the fight against doping in sport, reflecting Bahrain’s firm commitment to the principles of clean and fair competition.
BNADO CEO Saad Mubarak Al Nefaie reviewed the national anti-doping strategy and the agency’s recent achievements, including obtaining international recognition from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as an independent national authority in implementing international standards.
He also highlighted the implementation of awareness, education and testing programmes, alongside the development of strategic partnerships locally and internationally.
He commended the pivotal role and substantial efforts of the AIU in safeguarding the integrity of athletics, describing it as a key strategic partner in the success of BNADO’s strategy and its ambitious plans to combat doping.
AIU head Brett Clothier commended the advanced level achieved by BNADO and its accomplishments in protecting Bahraini sport.
Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise and knowledge, and draw on international best practices in line with WADA standards.
