APPLE said yesterday that it is holding its event for the iPhone 17 on September 9 – just like last year. The company has started sending invites for the event, which will be held at the Steve Jobs theatre in Cupertino and will start at 8pm Bahrain time.
The star of the show could be a slim new 6.6-inch iPhone 17 Air model, which would have fewer camera lenses, but shave some thickness as part of a years-long approach by Apple to revamp the look and feel of its iPhones before it eventually adds a foldable version to the mix, and in 2027, a rumoured 20th Anniversary iPhone with curved glass edges and slimmer bezels.
The base iPhone 17 is reported to have a new and bigger 6.3-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz in previous years.
Along with the iPhones, Apple will likely have updated the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 would be a notable update amid the trio, with a bigger screen and faster charging support.
The company might also announce AirPods Pro 3, three years after the previous generation of Pro AirPods were released. Rumours suggest that the AirPods Pro 3 will feature a sleeker design, touch-sensitive controls, smaller earbuds, and a slimmer case. Another rumour claims the pairing button will be removed, and instead, you touch the case itself.
