Cycling – Bahrain Victorious rider Zak Erzen clinched a thrilling victory in the 59th edition of the Circuito del Porto-Trofeo Arvedi 2025, the 1.2 European Tour, in Cremona, Italy.
The Slovenian outclassed Italians Cristian Fantini and Lorenzo Cataldo, who finished second and third respectively. The win represents a milestone for the Bahrain Victorious Development Team, which continues to establish itself on the European scene as a strong and ambitious development team.
Bahraini riders Ahmed Nasser and Ahmed Modon participated as part of the Bahrain Victorious Development Team. The race is one of the most important one-day races, which stretched over a distance of 180 kilometres, while gathering a professional riders from different countries of the world.
Bahrain Cycling Federation president Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa extended his thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his constant support to the Bahrain Victorious Development Team in its development journey. He praised Shaikh Nasser’s active role in providing opportunities for Bahraini riders to participate in important international races and competitions.
Dr Shaikh Khalid also thanked Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his unwavering support for all cycling programmes and activities, that has had a great impact on riders and elevated the sport to high Gulf, Arab, regional and international competitive stations.

The Circuito del Porto-Trofeo Arvedi, organised by the 1891 Cremottesi Cycling Club, is one of the most historic races in Europe since its inception in 1967.
The race has provided an ideal platform for up-and-coming riders to prove their abilities, and with this win, the Bahrain Victorious Development Team continues to confirm its position as one of the leading teams in the development category, furthering its journey in nurturing young talent and achieving outstanding results on the international stage.
