A video of a "robotic failure" during a festival in China went viral, where a robot malfunctioned and started attacking the attendees.
The startling incident shows the robot abruptly turning towards the crowd and attempting to hit people at random. The security guards promptly intervened and ushered him to another spot.
The android’s ‘out-of-control’ behaviour has raised concerns, as people question the safety of artificial intelligence, and in particular, robots. One social media user commented on X, "We are getting closer and closer to a science fiction scenario."
The event organisers described the incident as "a simple robot failure." They added that authorities confirmed that all robots had passed their previous tests and stressed that the malfunction was completely unexpected.
