MMA – ELIEZER ‘King Kong’ Kubanza has rapidly established himself as one of the brightest stars on the BRAVE Combat Federation roster.
With an unblemished professional record of seven wins and no losses, including six electrifying finishes, this Congolese powerhouse is carving a path of destruction through the super welterweight division.
Fighting out of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kubanza is not just a rising contender; he’s a significant flagbearer for African mixed martial arts (MMA) on the global stage.
Kubanza made his BRAVE CF debut in 2023 at BRAVE CF 72, and wasted no time making a statement.
Facing Rayan Atmani, ‘King Kong’ unleashed a devastating first-round head kick that left the MMA world buzzing. That spectacular debut set the tone for what would become a meteoric rise in the promotion.
Six months later, Kubanza returned to action at BRAVE CF 79 against Adel Ibrahim. Displaying his ferocious striking power, he finished Ibrahim with first-round punches, immediately solidifying his reputation as one of the division’s most feared knockout artists.
That momentum carried over into 2024, with a summer showdown against Salamat Orozakunov at BRAVE CF 85. Kubanza delivered a flawless performance, dismantling Orozakunov with first-round punches, further building his case as a top contender.
Kubanza’s most recent bout came in December of last year at BRAVE CF 91 against Zagid Gaidarov, a seasoned competitor known for his durability and experience.
For the first time in his career, Kubanza was pushed to his limit and the fight went the full three rounds. In a unanimous decision victory, he proved that he is not just a knockout artist but a well-rounded fighter capable of maintaining dominance across all facets of the game.
In a bold move that aligns with BRAVE CF’s 2025 theme of ‘Year of the BRAVE’, Kubanza has set his sights on former champion Marcin Bandel. In a recent social media interaction, he challenged Bandel, writing: “OG, let’s throw some hands in 2025. I’ll be honoured to share the cage with you”.
Bandel’s response leaves the door open for a potential showdown, adding extra excitement to the super welterweight division.
