JIU-JITSU – MORE than 100 jiu-jitsu fighters, both male and female, representing academies training centres across the region, are set to compete in the Bahrain Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship, scheduled for today at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
The event is being organised by the Bahrain Jiu-Jitsu Federation (BJJF), who have completed the registration process for the competition.
Bahrain Combat Sports Council (BCSC) member and BJJF president Redha Monfaradi confirmed that the championship is the first of a series of events to be held by the BJJF for 2025.
Monfaradi added that the championship aims to highlight talents in the martial art of jiu-jitsu, while contributing to the ranks of the national team.
Monfaradi noted that the BJJF seeks to proceed according to the strategy set by the BCSC, headed by General Sports Authority vice-chairman and BCSC president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, to raise the level and efficiency of members of national federations and teams.
Monfaradi expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the working committees of the competition and wished all the participants success in the event.
