HANDBALL – Bahrain clubs Al Najma and Al Shabab are set to compete in separate Super Cup games later this week against regional opposition.
The Bahrain Handball Association announced last night that the Bahrain-UAE Super Cup will be held between Najma and Sharjah on Saturday, while on the same night the Bahrain-Saudi Arabia Super Cup will take place between Shabab and Al Hada.
The two fixtures will take place at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
The last edition of the Bahrain-UAE Super Cup was held in 2023, when Najma narrowly missed out on the trophy after losing to Sharjah 31-32.
Najma were back-to-back title winners previously, having claimed the title four times in six years.
Shabab, meanwhile, won the inaugural edition of the Bahrain-Saudi Arabia Super Cup, which was played last year. They defeated Mudhar Club 26-25.
