Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi held a meeting yesterday with UN International Labour Organization (ILO) Director-General Gilbert Houngbo during the second edition of the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC) 2025, which concluded in Riyadh on Thursday.
The meeting marked the signing of a groundbreaking framework agreement, the first of its kind, between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the ILO. This agreement aims to empower Saudi participation in the organization through the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) programs and secondment, providing Saudi talents with valuable international experience and exposure to global standards across various fields.
The agreement aligns with the Kingdom's initiatives to fulfil its strategic goals under Vision 2030, which focuses on developing national talent, providing them with practical experience in international organizations, improving the representation of Saudis in these entities, and empowering them to contribute to shaping international labor policies.
This collaboration demonstrates the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its relationships with global partners and leveraging international expertise to advance the Saudi labor market, thereby contributing to sustainable development.
