The round of 16 of the 2024-25 His Majesty the King’s Cup – Bahrain’s richest annual football tournament – is set.
The first pair of games are scheduled to be held this evening, to be followed by three apiece on Saturday and Sunday.
Tonight, Manama take on East Riffa while Al Shabab play Hidd.
On Saturday, His Majesty the King’s Cup holders Al Ahli go up against Al Ettifaq, Riffa play Bahrain Club, and Sitra go up against Bouri.
Then, on Sunday, two-time defending champions of the Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League Al Khaldiya take on Etehad Al Reef, current league leaders Muharraq play Budaiya Club, and Al Najma face Al Hala.
All matches are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs at different venues.
Ahli won last year’s HM the King’s Cup title after defeating Muharraq 4-2 on penalties in a thrilling final. The match was deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
Ahli clinched the title for the sixth time in the history of the competition. The previous other years were in 2003, 2001, 1991, 1987, and 1982.
