MORENO STRIKES IN STOPPAGE TIME TO PUT AUCKLAND BACK ON TOP
Auckland FC returned to the top of the A-League standings on Sunday with a late 1-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.
Neyder Moreno's left-foot strike from close range beat goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas via the underside of the crossbar in the 95th minute to secure all three points for the New Zealanders.
Auckland moved onto 30 points, two ahead of Adelaide United, who have played one game fewer.
RONALDO STRIKE SEALS WIN AS AL-NASSR MOVE INTO THIRD PLACE
Cristiano Ronaldo was on target as Al-Nassr picked up a 3-1 win over Al-Fateh on Sunday to move into third place in the Saudi Pro League.
The striker netted three minutes from time to seal the win after a Marwan Saadane own goal and a powerful header from Mohamed Simakan had given Al-Nassr a two-goal lead before Murad Batna punished Bento's mistake to reduce the deficit.
Al-Nassr remain eight points adrift of leaders Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, who are both on 43 points and play Al-Qadsiah and Damac respectively later on Monday.
SOCCEROOS GOALKEEPER RYAN LEAVES ROMA TO JOIN LENS
Australia goalkeeper Maty Ryan has joined French side Lens on a short-term deal until the end of the season after leaving Italy's AS Roma.
The Socceroos captain, who has been capped 96 times, did not make a single Serie A appearance in a six-month spell with Roma.
KAPADZE NAMED UBEKISTAN COACH AFTER KATANEC STEPS DOWN
Timur Kapadze was named Uzbekistan national team coach following the departure of Srecko Katanec due to ill health, the country's football federation confirmed on Thursday.
