VOLLEYBALL – BAHRAIN champions Dar Kulaib clinched ninth place overall last night in the final classification of the 43rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Clubs Championship in Doha, Qatar.
The Bahrainis claimed their ranking as the best team outside of the quarter-finalists following a 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-18) victory over Kuwait SC of Kuwait.
The result was part of the tournament-ending classification contests amongst the teams playing for ninth to 15th positions. It earned the Bahrainis a winning finish to their campaign in the Qatari capital.
Dar Kulaib’s squad in the competition, organised by the Arab Volleyball Association and the Qatar Volleyball Association, was guided by Argentinian head coach Alejandro Schneider. Their players included Hassan Nasser, Yousef Khaled, Mahmoud Abdulwahed, Amin Ebrahim, Ali Habib, Ali Hussain, Hussain Isa, Abbas Abdulla, Hassan Alaiwi, Hassan Warqaa, Hassan Abbas, Ayman Isa, Ali Khairalla, and Croatian opposite Tomislav Mitrasinovic.
