SHOWJUMPING – Interior Ministry rider Hussain Mohammed Dadullah won the 140cm jumps competition in the Khalid bin Hamad One-Star International Showjumping Championship, which concluded yesterday at the Military Sports Union field in Riffa.
The event was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It was organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), and it was attended by Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Khalifa and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, the sons of Shaikh Khalid, as well as by Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Dadullah triumphed with a time of 54.92 seconds and no faults, while second place was secured by fellow Interior Ministry rider Maiouf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi with a time of 62.98s. Third went to Ali Isa, also from the Interior Ministry, with a time of 53.34s but with 16 faults. Gianni Govoni from Italy took fourth place, followed by Mahmoud Abdulqader in fifth, and Ahmed Mansour in sixth.
In the first 120cm jumps contest, Ministry of Interior rider Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi won with a time of 25.65s. Second went to Maiouf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi with 26.09s, and third to Badr Mohammed Janahi with 26.76s.
In the second 130cm jumps competition and a joker obstacle, Dadullah secured first place with 65 points and a time of 63.82s. Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi came second with 65 points and a time of 71.72s, while Mohammed Saif Mohammed finished third with 63 points and a time of 66.52s.
