DARTS – Bahraini darts stars Basem Mahmood and Abdulla Saeed have won the right to fly the kingdom’s flag in next year’s Bahrain Darts Masters, the first event on the 2025 PDC World Series of Darts.
Mahmood and Saeed secured their spots in the highly anticipated event, scheduled to take place on January 16 and 17 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), after finishing as the top two players in the qualifying tournament.
They now become a part of the eight Asian representatives who will be taking on the eight Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) superstars in the opening stage of the 2025 Bahrain Darts Masters.
Mahmood and Saeed made it to the qualifiers’ final following identical 6-1 wins in the last four, which was played in best-of-11 legs. Mahmood triumphed against Arif Abbas while Saeed defeated Abdulrahman Moosa.
In the quarter-finals, held in best-of-nine legs, Mahmood won 5-1 against Aref Murad, while Saeed beat Hasan Haji 5-2. Abbas overcame Hussain Ali 5-2 in their contest, and Moosa edged past Hassan Bucheeri 5-4.
The qualifiers were played over two days, and close to 30 of the best darts players of Bahrain took part for the incredible chance to go up against the biggest names in the game.
Both Mahmood and Saeed will be competing in the Bahrain Darts Masters for the second time - Mahmood took part in the 2023 edition, while Saeed played in this year’s edition - and they join six stars from the PDC Asian Tour in the event.
Next year’s darts spectacle is set to feature a glittering cast of PDC superstars, headlined by teenage darts sensation and defending Bahrain Darts Masters champion Luke Littler, along with reigning World Champion Luke Humphries and top star Rob Cross. They are the first three icons of the game already confirmed to be competing in the event.
The 2025 Bahrain Darts Masters will be the first tournament after the 2024-25 PDC World Darts Championship.
Tickets to the 2025 Bahrain Darts Masters are now available. Fans will have to act fast as the event is expected to sell out, based on the huge demand from this year’s edition, which drew a massive crowd to BIC.
Premium seating tickets, which include stage-side tables, are available, as well as VIP hospitality for the event. All ticket options can be found online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
The Bahrain Darts Masters is organised by BIC and CBX and supported by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. It will take place at the BIC Dome, which will be transformed for the weekend into an incredible darts venue.
