Cairo - GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr Badr Abdel Ati emphasized the distinction of Gulf-Egyptian relations and the need to strengthen them further to serve common interests and achieve their desired goals, a press release from the GCC General Secretariat stated.
This came during the minister’s reception of the Secretary General yesterday at the Tahrir Palace in Cairo, Egypt.
During the meeting, a number of topics of common interest were discussed, including a review of the strength of fraternal relations between the GCC and Egypt and ways to develop and enhance them in a way that achieves common interests and aspirations.
According to the release, the two sides agreed to maintain direct cooperation and coordination in various areas as outlined in the joint action plan. This plan was approved during the joint ministerial meeting between the GCC and Egypt on March 3, 2024.
The meeting also reviewed and exchanged views on the latest developments in regional and international arenas.
