The qualifiers of the Ramadan international endurance races, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), will begin today at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
The races, set to commence at 3.30pm, will feature the 160km international race, rated ‘3-star’; the 100km international and local qualifying races rated ‘1-star’; and the 120km international qualifying race rated ‘2-star’; as well as local qualifying races of 40km and 80km.
The veterinary examination of the horses were held yesterday at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in the presence of a large number of participating horsemen. The arbitration and veterinary committee members supervised the process of the examination.
The races will be held in several stages. The 40km race will be held in one stage (red) while the 100km race will be held in three stages. The first stage (red) will cover a distance of 40km while the second (blue) and third (green) stages will be for 30km each.
The 120km race will be held in four stages – the first stage (red) for 40km, the second (blue) for 30km, the third (green) for 30km and the fourth (yellow) for 20km.
The 160km race will witness five stages – the first stage (red) for 40km, the second (blue) for 35km, the third (green) for 35km, the fourth (white) for 30km and the fifth (Yellow) for 20km.
