An Alaska Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Portland International Airport after one of its doors blew open mid-flight, just minutes after taking off.
A statement by Alaska Airlines said, "AS1282 from Portland to Ontario, CA experienced an incident this evening soon after departure. The aircraft landed safely back at Portland International Airport with 171 guests and 6 crew members. We are investigating what happened and will share more as it becomes available."
Videos of the flight taken by passengers show the flight shaking with emergency oxygen masks deployed and air rushing into the cabin.
Snippet of ATC audio of Alaska 1282 declaring an emergency. ATC responses barely audible so edited out for clarity. Props to @bricaul for finding this. pic.twitter.com/R1jGFeu71J

The Boeing 737 Max involved in the incident had only recently gone into active service with Alaska Airlines. Since the incident, US regulators have grounded 171 Boeing 737 Max jetliners for safety checks.
The US National Transport Safety Board also said that they were investigating the incident.
Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air does not have any Boeing 737 Max aircraft in its fleet.
