The village of Sao Lourenco do Bairro in Portugal was flooded after tanks at a local distillery burst, sending over 2.2 million litres of alcohol onto its streets.
The Levira Distillery was preparing to start bottling the alcoholic beverage when the tank suddenly gave away. Videos from the village show the streets being covered in the red liquid.
The flood was so massive that it triggered an eco alert to stop it from contaminating the nearby Certima River.
The local fire department blocked off the road, diverting the beverage from the river and into a nearby field.
