CAMPAIGNERS expect to collect hundreds of tonnes of plastic waste during a religious event next week, with the funds raised through the sale of the waste being used to help the disabled.
The initiative, launched yesterday under the theme ‘United Forearms’ at the Northern Municipal Council headquarters in Budaiya, is aimed at funding the purchase of 10 specially-equipped wheelchairs worth around BD30,000 .
