The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old boy for allegedly raping, killing, burning and then dumping the singed body of his Filipino housemaid on a roadside.
The body was found in the Salmi area in the early hours of January 22. Within 24 hours, the ministry announced that they had arrested the suspect in connection with the crime.
It was also reported that the victim was pregnant at the time of her death. DNA samples taken from the body reportedly matched those of the accused.
Fingerprint analysis of the victim revealed that she was Filipino and that a case of absconding was registered by her sponsor.
Legal proceedings are underway.
