Videos of icy roads in Kuwait City went viral on social media after the country was hit by heavy thunderstorms and hail on Tuesday.
Posts show roads that are seemingly covered in snow, which in fact was a mixture of rain and hail.

Kuwait’s meteorological centre issued a weather warning for scattered moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail for Tuesday afternoon until dawn on Wednesday.
There is no known record of snow having fallen in Kuwait, although hail, frost as well as occasional rain are common.
Parts of neighbouring Saudi Arabia however experienced snowfall on Tuesday.
