Dubai: The world's largest indoor theme park recently opened its doors to the public in Dubai — the latest in a myriad of new attractions.
Though Dubai is already home to the world's tallest skyscraper, the Middle East's largest mall, the new attraction is largest indoor theme park to its list of world-firsts.
The park was inaugurated by Dubai's ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Wednesday.
The $1 billion IMG Worlds of Adventure measuring 1.5 million square feet features characters from Cartoon Network and Disney's Marvel universe.
The adventure park is one of the two major theme parks opening in Dubai this year as part of an effort to attract 20 million tourists annually by 2020, when the emirate is to host the World Expo.
