A warning has been issued against fraudulent emails aimed at stealing personal and bank detail.
The Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry said the emails in Arabic claim that the recipients have a Bahrain Post package which will be released to them on payment of shipping fees.
A link is included in the email for payment.
“Please do not open the link or disclose any personal information,” said the ministry in a statement on social media yesterday.
The ministry had issued a similar advisory against deceptive text messages in June last year, clarifying that Bahrain Post did not ask for personal information or bank details and only contacted customers through official channels upon arrival of postal packages.
