Bahrain: A two-month summer work ban starts today as the hottest months of the year begin.
Labourers are not allowed to work outdoors between noon and 4pm in July and August as part of the summer work ban in Bahrain.
The ban has been in place since 2007 and the punishment for violating the ban is between BD500 and BD1,000 for each worker.
Labour Ministry Under-Secretary Sabah Al Dossary previously told the GDN that last year 98 per cent of the employers followed the law and that most violators were first-time commercial registration (CR) owners.
He said that this year the ministry would cover “all sites across Bahrain” including factories, housing projects and private houses.
In the past only construction sites had been monitored.
