Raw almonds
It is illegal to sell raw almonds in California, US as it was proven that they are one of the reasons for salmonella outbreaks.

Chewing Gum
Chewing gum is banned in Singapore unless prescribed by a doctor.
Littering is severely fined in Singapore and if anyone is found spitting chewing gum on the streets, they can be fined up to $500. Now you know why Singapore is so clean.
Foie Gras
Foie gras means fat liver and it's a dish made out of goose/duck liver.
It is banned in Europe (except France and many states of US) as the ducks are force-fed fat, pushing tubes down their throat, to enlarge the liver.
Fugu Fish
Fugu is the Japanese name for the Puffer Fish, it is one of the world's most venomous fish.
Fugu fish is considered a delicacy in Japan and Kore. However, it can become deadly if not cooked properly.
The liver is supposed to be the tastiest as well as the most poisonous part of the fish and serving this organ is banned in Japan since 1984.
Haggis
It is a famous product that comes from Scotland. The dish is made from sheep heart, liver and lungs mixed with different spices and seasonings. It is banned in the US due to the ban on lungs of sheep.
Jelly Sweets
This gooey, sweet candy loved by all is banned in the UK and EU following a number of child deaths by choking around the world.
Kinder Eggs
One of the most loved chocolate by children is banned in the United States as it contains a non-edible object in the pack.
The ban is to protect children from swallowing the plastic toy.
Mac and Cheese
It would be heartbreaking if Mac and Cheese would be banned anywhere. Though it is not Mac and cheese that’s banned but the 'Yellow #6' food colouring as they were found to be harmful for kids.
'Yellow #6' is banned in Norway and Austria.
Unpasteurised Milk and Dairy Products
It is banned in 22 states of the US and Canada as there is a threat it may cause salmonella, litirossis and other diseases caused by germs.
Ortolan
This small singing bird of the size of a sparrow has been tortured to make a delicacy served to the nobles of France.
The bird is fattened and when it reaches the optimum weight it is drowned in brandy, then fried and is eaten whole.
Hunting them is now illegal in France.
Samosas
They are banned in Somalia, as the Al Shabaab think it's offensive as it resembles the Christian Holy Trinity.
Sassafras
It was traditionally used to make root beer. However, during a test, it was discovered that one of the elements in the Sassafras oil caused cancer in rats.
Moutain Dew
BVO (Brominated Vegetable Oil) is one of the active ingredients present in the citrus drink which is banned in over 100 countries as well as the EU.
Studies have found that drinking this in large quantities can lead to memory loss, fatigue, loss of coordination, tremors and other side effects.
Ketchup
It is banned in primary schools in France as they believe it is a threat to traditional French cooking among children.
