409 coins thought to belong to the Ancient Greek civilisation have been found in Sharjah.
The coins were found in a jar and minted and circulated in Mleiha were apparently inspired by the coins of Alexander the Great and Seleucid successors.
The Sharjah Archaeology Authority has stated that the coins show icons of that time period, including Hercules and Zeus, as well as the name 'Alexander' engraved in Greek.
