Bahrain: A new mobile application for postal services has been launched by the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry in collaboration with the eGovernment Authority.
“The Bahrain Post Services app comprises enhancements of additional new services along with numerous features that employ high levels of technology,” said ministry post affairs assistant under-secretary Shaikh Bader bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
“The application provides new services such as ‘Mailbox Renewal’ which allows users to renew and pay their yearly renewal fees online, a feature to view the stamp collections for stamp collectors and visitors who are interested in Bahrain’s philately and heritage and a feature that allows users to receive notifications and updates related to the postal services.
“To facilitate the use of the application, a detailed list of FAQs is available on the app, as well as a demo to assist users in navigating the services.”
Improvements were also made to pre-existing services, such as tracking the status of delivery, calculating shipping costs and viewing the locations and details of post offices and public mailboxes.
“We want to ease the process of obtaining information and services by combining more than one service in a single platform,” Shaikh Bader said.
“The app enables the user to complete every process related to sending parcels in an integrated manner all in one go, and with mobile convenience.”
There are 34,000 mailboxes active in Bahrain, made up of both private individuals and companies.
