Kuwait City – A former Kuwait University law professor has applied for asylum in the United States of America.
Dr Fatima Al-Matar announced on her twitter account that she has moved to the US along with her daughter in a bid to obtain asylum.
She said she has been referred to the public prosecution on blasphemy charges.
The mother and her daughter were placed in a refugee center for two weeks. A lawyer was also appointed to represent them pro bono.
