Kuwait City: Schools will reopen their doors today, Sunday, to welcome students back after the torrential rain brought the country to a standstill.
The Ministry of Education announced the resumption of schools after ensuring the completion of maintenance work at flood-hit schools, particularly in the area of Sabah Al-Ahmed.
Life came to a halt following the unprecedented heavy downpour that was equal to Kuwait’s average annual rainfall, according to the meteorological department.
The cabinet had convened for an extraordinary session and suspended work at ministries, government institutions and schools.
