A plan to build a massive gold city in Kuwait has been unveiled.
The project which will cover 100,000 square metres will be the biggest of its kind in the region, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has submitted a demand to the Municipality of Kuwait City to allocate the land for work on the mega project.
The complex would include a building for precious metals, a VIP lobby, administrative facilities, car parks, jewellery testing labs, 1,500 jewellery workshops and 2,000 shops.
The mega project will also include an exhibition hall, a permanent jewellery museum, a bourse for trading in gems and precious metals and another hall for holding auctions.
