A brave, calm six-year-old girl helped ambulance crews come to the aid of her mother who had suffered a seizure at home, the Interior Ministry’s Operations Directorate revealed.
Paramedics were able to reach the 35-year-old woman, who suffers from epilepsy, after her daughter called 999.
According to the statement, the directorate received ‘a silent call’ through its emergency hotline. The operations room called back and found that the alert had been made by a young girl. The line was disconnected, prompting urgent measures to verify the situation.
The operator was able to reach the girl again though a video call, and authorities were able to see the mother, who was lying on the floor unconscious.
The child was guided to move outside the apartment which helped identify the location and direct the ambulance to the scene. Her mother was taken by ambulance to King Hamad University Hospital where her condition was reported as ‘stable’.
