A scuba-clad man robbed a waterfront restaurant located at Disney World in Orlando and swam away.
The brazen robbery unfolded on Monday. The scuba-diving thief swam up to the restaurant, located at a man-made lake within Disney Springs, just after midnight as the restaurant was closing. The suspect, aware of security cameras, strategically stripped off and hid his wetsuit before targeting the Paddlefish restaurant.
Investigators reported he forced two employees into a corner and instructed them to close their eyes. The employees complied with his demands, even though they did not see a weapon, and were reportedly tied up by the suspect.
Within two minutes, the thief stole between $10,000 and $20,000, donned the wetsuit once again, and jumped back into the lake before swimming away.
No one was injured during the incident, and the staff managed to clean up and reopen the restaurant to guests just 12 hours later.
