ENDURANCE HORSERACING – BAHRAIN’S Royal Endurance Team is set to participate in an international ride in Florac, France, which will be held over a distance of 160 kilometers, with the participation of a group of the most prominent riders from various countries around the world.
The Royal Team will be represented by top riders Mohammed Abdul Samad with his horse Da Vinci CS, Salman Issa with his horse Gaia de Fabrice, Abdulrahman Al Khatri with his horse Farouk de la Soler, Hamad Hilal Al Khatri with his horse SW Ezequielm, and Hamad Al Janahi with his horse Devin de Villaret. They will be up against riders representing countries with a long history in endurance racing, including Belgium, China, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
The team’s riders participated in a veterinary examination held in the tournament village, in addition to weighing the riders and numbering the horses.
Royal Stables and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team general manager Dr Khaled Ahmed Hassan emphasised that the participation comes within the framework of the team’s strategy to enhance its presence in major international championships and hone the skills of young riders by interacting with the strongest international endurance schools.
He said: “The Royal Team’s participation in the Florac race represents a new step towards achieving further accomplishments and raising the kingdom’s profile in international sporting events.
“We are keen to ensure that these participations are an opportunity to gain experience and enhance our riders’ readiness for the future, especially since the team will be participating in several upcoming championships.”
The race will start in the city of Florac, and the horses and their riders will travel through four cities spread across the valleys and mountains of France, returning to the finish line in Florac.
