FOOTBALL – The 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League kicks off tonight.
Two matches are set to be held this evening on the first of three straight days of action as part of the new season’s opening match week.
At the National Stadium in Riffa, Sitra take on Bahrain Club, while at Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad, Malkiya battle Hidd. Both matches are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.
The first week of league play continues tomorrow and Saturday.
Defending champions Muharraq kick off their title-defence tomorrow against long-time rivals Al Ahli.
Their contest will take place at Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Stadium.
At the National Stadium, Al Khaldiya face off with A’ali. Both games are set for 5pm starts.
Week one then wraps up on Saturday with two more fixtures. At Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium, Al Shabab take on Budaiya, while at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town, Al Najma lock horns with Riffa.
The 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League will be played in a double round-robin.
The first round will continue until the 11th week, which starts on January 8 next year, while the ensuing 11 match weeks have yet to be scheduled.
