BASKETBALL – THE Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) unveiled yesterday the official logo for the 26th Arab Men’s Basketball Championship, which the kingdom is set to host from July 25 to August 2.
The tournament will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It will be supervised by the Arab Basketball Confederation (ABC), and it will feature the participation of leading national teams from across the region.
The launch of the logo comes as part of the ongoing preparations for the anticipated regional tournament. The design reflects a distinctive visual identity that highlights both the sporting and cultural dimensions of Bahrain and underscores its prominent role in hosting regional and international championships.
The logo features a red trophy incorporating the flag of the kingdom, with the number 26 at its centre, indicating the current edition of the tournament. A basketball tops the design and contains illustrations of key architectural and cultural landmarks of Bahrain, reinforcing the national character of the logo and symbolising the identity of the host country.
The use of red and white reflects the colours of Bahrain’s national flag, while the green signifies the ABC.
The logo is characterised by its simplicity, visual appeal, and symbolic depth, commemorating the legacy of the tournament, which this year marks 50 years since its inception. The event continues to serve as a platform for bringing together Arab teams in a distinguished competitive environment.
The BBA emphasised that the launch of the official logo marks the beginning of a comprehensive media campaign aimed at promoting Bahrain as a leading regional destination for sports and enhancing public engagement in the championship, which will be held at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town.
