Asian Youth Games – With three months remaining until the opening of the third Asian Youth Games, a royal call has gone out to ensure its successful delivery in a manner befitting Bahrain’s reputation as a major sporting events host.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa was speaking as he yesterday chaired a meeting of the Higher Organising Committee for the Asian Youth Games, scheduled to take place in Bahrain from October 22 to 31.

He reiterated the importance of integration and sustained co-ordination among all entities concerned and the Executive Committee to meet the organisational requirements and ensure the successful delivery of the Games in a manner befitting Bahrain’s reputation in hosting major sporting events.
Shaikh Khalid reviewed the security plan presented by the Interior Ministry, the proposed awards programme from the National Communication Centre, and the comprehensive media coverage and broadcast plan submitted by the Information Ministry.
The meeting also discussed updates on the opening ceremony, the Games torch design, official uniforms for organisers, and other key operational elements related to the Games.
