SNOOKER – BAHRAIN’S star tandem of Habib Sabah and Khalil Busaif advanced to the knockout stage of the Asian Men’s Team Snooker Championship 2025, currently being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Sabah and Busaif secured their berth after winning two of their three matches in Group D of the tournament’s round-robin phase. They opened their campaign with a tough 2-3 loss against Pakistan Two’s Muhammad Sajjad and Shahid Aftab, but then bounced back to sweep Sri Lanka Two’s Mohamed Musarraf and Susantha Boteju 3-0.
They then triumphed in their concluding preliminary round match 3-0 against China, who featured Guodong Xiao, Sijun Yuan, and Jiaxin Yang, to advance to the knockouts as Group D runners-up.
The Asian Men’s Team Snooker Championship 2025 is organised by the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS). It is scheduled to continue until today.
Teams competing in the six-red snooker event consist of two or three players.
A total of 16 squads competed in the group phase, representing Pakistan, China, Qatar, Cambodia, India, Hong Kong, Oman, Bangladesh, Singapore, Macao, Bahrain, and hosts Sri Lanka.
