Bahrain has been elected to the executive board of UN Women for the 2026-2028 term. It secured one of five Asia-Pacific seats, alongside Japan, China, the Republic of Korea and the Philippines, Supreme Council for Women (SCW) secretary general Lulwa Al Awadhi emphasised that this reflects the kingdom’s growing international role in women’s advancement .
