SUPREME Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa chaired the fourth meeting of the supreme organising committee for the third Asian Youth Games, which will be hosted by the kingdom from October 22 to 31.
The mega multi-sport event will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad.
Shaikh Khalid reviewed the latest preparations undertaken by the executive committee over the past period, as outlined in a detailed report highlighting key achievements, and the readiness of all working committees involved in hosting the event.
The report also covered sports and technical preparations, key equipment and devices to be provided, and the approved plan to ensure full readiness of all competition venues and supporting facilities.
The Foreign Ministry also presented an overview of its planned efforts to support and promote the event, reflecting the integrated cooperation between various government entities to ensure the success of the Asian Youth Games.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that the royal patronage of the third Asian Youth Games places a great responsibility on all parties to double their efforts and complete all preparations within the coming period.
He noted that time is a significant challenge, but the determination of Bahrain’s people, along with the kingdom’s wealth of human capital, infrastructure, high-quality services, and facilities, will ensure the success of this major Asian event being held in Bahrain for the first time.
Shaikh Khalid also noted that the supreme organising committee will fully support the executive committee in completing all necessary tasks and requirements, through coordination, cooperation, and synergy between public and private sector institutions.
Shaikh Khalid noted that this will further enhance Bahrain’s reputation for successfully hosting and organising major sporting events. He also wished all teams continued success.
