King Abdullah of Jordan yesterday received a delegation from the ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Developments in the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and attended by Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.
The meeting was also attended by Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr Badr Abdelatty and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
King Abdullah was briefed on the committee’s ongoing efforts to engage with key international stakeholders and organisations to mobilise support for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, to support the two-state solution.
He emphasised the importance of continued co-ordination with friendly nations to create international pressure to end the Gaza crisis.
