GOLF – FAROOQ Ahmed, Dayton Hartley, and Dr Salil Gupta won the Black Knights-sponsored black ball team stableford competition at Awali Golf Club.
In this event, groups of three players play their own scores, while a team score played with the black ball is also carded, being the main goal for the team.
For each of the teammates, every third hole they play the black ball, replacing their own ball with the black ball for that hole.
Under windy conditions, the team of Ahmed, Hartley, and Dr Gupta posted the best score with 39 points scored on the black ball.
Individually, the best score of the day was registered by Ali Musbah, scoring 41 points which won him the first division. Badr Al Dosari won division two with 38 points, while Darren Swain took division three with 36 points.
The prizes were handed out by Awali Golf Club captain Steve Newall and tournament director Rashed Al Qutami, alongside Black Knights representative KN Singh.
Next week, Awali Golf Club hosts the A&E-sponsored medal competition.
