A woman in the Chongqing municipality of southwestern China recently lost her job and her year-end bonus, when her cat accidentally sent her resignation letter to her boss.
The 25-year-old office worker revealed that she had written her resignation letter, but had chosen not to send it as she needed the money from her job to care for her nine cats.
The incident, which was reportedly captured on CCTV, happened when the woman left her desk with the email draft still open on her computer. One of her cats jumped on top of her desk, and inadvertently pressed the ‘send’ button on the email.
Once the woman returned and realised what had happened, she immediately reached out to her boss to explain the situation. But her efforts were in vain as her boss accepted her resignation letter and rescinded her year-end bonus.
