Indian Army personnel recently showcased their new technology during a parade, which included robotics dogs.
The Indian Army celebrated its 77th Army Day on Wednesday in Pune. The event marked Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa’s appointment as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in 1949. It honoured soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country and highlighted India’s military independence.
The parade showcased new technology, including 100 robotic dogs, or MULEs, that improve operations and enhance soldier safety. At the Southern Command Investiture Ceremony, Lt. General Dhiraj Seth emphasised military achievements and innovation.
The robotic dogs have thermal imaging sensors and can carry up to 12 kilogrammes. They assist in logistics, surveillance, and combat.
The ceremony also featured a march past by eight distinguished groups, displaying advanced weapons and vehicles.
