Two hundred seedlings were distributed by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) environmental agricultural team as part of the Amateur Farmers 3 event held at Al Malkiya Beach.
It was organised by Northern Municipal Council member Zainab Al Derazi, in collaboration with the Northern Municipality, Garden Friends and Al Malkiya Club Scouts.
Informative workshops on the basics of home gardening, plant care and pest and disease control were held.
There were also live demonstrations on modern farming techniques.
The BRCS team offered valuable advice on selecting local plant species suited to various climates, soil preparation and planting techniques, the importance of regular irrigation for water conservation and safe use of organic fertilisers for plant nutrition.
The event aligns with BRCS’s efforts to raise awareness about the importance of agriculture and its role in achieving food security, environmental conservation, promoting a more sustainable lifestyle and contributing to the development of a green community.
The Amateur Farmers 3 event aims to encourage people to adopt sustainable farming practices and celebrate agricultural heritage to strengthen local identity.
