It's a sad day for One Piece fans all over the world. It was just announced that Kazuki Yao, who voices Frankie in the beloved anime, is retiring after 19 years.
The 65-year-old has been the voice of Frankie since the character debuted in 2005.
Yao also voiced other characters in the anime, such as Jango, Mr. 2 Bon Clay, and Mounblutain.
It was announced that his retirement will be celebrated at Jump Fest 2025, where his replacement will also be announced.
In a post on social media, Yao said, "The time has come for me to say a tearful farewell to a guy I've spent nearly a quarter of a century with. It's like an out-of-body experience, but I feel a gap has formed between me and my ideal Franky, so I've decided to disembark Sunny for now. It's frustrating! It's sad!! I can only apologize… however! We're preparing for a suuuuppeeerr successor to be revealed at Jump Festa on December 22. Look forward to it".
