Kuwait has seen a decrease of 30 per cent in traffic since it started implementing 'flexible working hours' in 24 government agencies last year, according to government estimates.
Sources said the following ideas are under consideration to ease traffic congestion:
1. Implementing an evening shift system early next year.
2. Assigning new employees based on their residential location.
3. Identifying roles that could adopt remote work.
4. Encouraging students to use school buses.
Agencies, including the Interior Ministry, Finance Ministry, Public Works Ministry, and others, have been tasked to co-ordinate efforts to permanently resolve the traffic problem.
