Egyptian tourism authorities thwarted a British man's plan to bury his mother's ashes within the 3,000-year-old temple of Abu Simbel.
The tourist, who had travelled to Egypt with his mother's ashes, approached the temple entrance carrying a suspicious-looking box. Security personnel inspected the box and discovered that it contained an urn with the ashes.
The tourist explained that it was his mother's wish to be buried in Egypt. However, such actions are strictly prohibited at archaeological sites in the country.
The authorities took action against the tourist and warned him against attempting similar acts at any other Egyptian archaeological site.
